COSATU MPUMALANGA MOURNS THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF THE STRUGGLE ICON CDE TSIETSIE TOLO

The Congress of South African Trade Unions in Mpumalanga joins millions of South Africans to mourn the sad news on the passing of one our finest revolutionary icons Comrade Bagudi Jonathan “Tsietsie”Tolo.

Comrade Tsietsi as he was fondly known died in the morning of Tuesday the 2nd of February 2021 in Hospital due to Covid – 19 related complications.

Cde Tolo had served our movement the (ANC) with diligence and commitment in various capacities.  After the 1994 democratic breakthrough upon his return from exile and after serving sometime in ANC military wing Umkhonto weSizwe, he was called to serve in the Provincial Legislature both as Chief Whip and MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, thereafter, was deployed to serve in the National Council of Provinces.  He was currently serving as the Executive Mayor of Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.

Cde Tsietsi was one of the finest leaders, a beacon of hope and resemblance of the moral values of the movement whose legacy and humility we wish could be replicated to the next generations to follow.

We give our deepest condolences to the family and friends of our departed brother and role model.
