COSATU Call Center Number 010 002 2590

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has recently launched a new call center to provide much-needed assistance to workers facing labour-related challenges. This dedicated resource aims to offer support, information, and guidance to both members of COSATU-affiliated unions and unorganized workers, ensuring that they have a place to turn for help with workplace issues.

COSATU GAUTENG Statement on the recent Judgement by the Bargaining Council and the lies of Mayor Herman Mashaba

COSATU GAUTENG Statement on the recent Judgement by the Bargaining Council and the lies of Mayor Herman Mashaba

COSATU in Gauteng welcomes the Judgement by the Bargaining Council which has ruled that the suspension of our members in the City of Johannesburg based in the revenue Department as unfair, unjust and without substance. We also welcome the dismissal of the court case against these workers by the courts as lacking substance and without any evidence.

We remain committed to the fight against crime and corruption and we support any measures to confront and deal with such. We will however never support action and means to harass and intimidate our members in the name of corruption by whosoever and including Mr Mashaba.

We would never accept mediocre as demonstrated by Mr Mashaba, who hides his ineptitude and lack of leadership by claiming to be fighting corruption in the municipality and acting on the basis of instincts without looking at facts and evidence and due regards to the prescripts of law.

We salute our union SAMWU for remaining resolute in defending our members from the unholy alliance at the helm of our City.
