SADTU appreciates and welcomes the announcement made by the MEC during his 2018/2019 Education Budget Speech that the stipend increase for Grade R Practitioners will take into consideration qualifications of these workers.

SADTU welcomes and appreciates this and regard it as a Victory for the Union SADTU that has made the demand when we started negotiations with the HOD last year.

SADTU is still analysing the budget speech made by the MEC and will be formulating and making public our views on it as to whether it is really meant to improve and accelerate education delivery in the province.
