SAEPU condemns the attacks, assaults and burning of ambulances at Northam in Limpopo

South African Emergency Personnel’s Union (SAEPU) condemns the incident that took place in Limpopo at an area called Northam.

EMS crew members that were on night duty are injured and being treated at Thabazimmbi hospital.

It is very sad and scary because their lives are threatened and are in a serious danger, SAEPU is hurt by the situations that personnel’s find themselves in, because they suffer and this becomes an everyday thing whereby the Department of Health does not bring up an amicable way of minimising the incidents that takes place in the EMS section.

We condemn the burning and assault in EMS, incident that took place in Northam ha saddened SAEPU members in the whole country and SAEPU President will be visiting affected members to provide moral support.

We will further engage with the MEC and other relevant bodies on this matter.
