COSATU Call Center Number 010 002 2590

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has recently launched a new call center to provide much-needed assistance to workers facing labour-related challenges. This dedicated resource aims to offer support, information, and guidance to both members of COSATU-affiliated unions and unorganized workers, ensuring that they have a place to turn for help with workplace issues.

COSATU Free State supports SASBO strike at SBV

COSATU Free State supports the SASBO strike at SBV which the employer has tried every trick in the book to derail. It is our view that the demands of SASBO in relation to the salary increase for workers are reasonable and affordable by the employer. It is unacceptable that the employer remains intransigent on the demands that have been put forward by the workers.

In the recent months we have noted a sharp increase in the cash in transit heists that have put the lives of our members at risk whilst they are being paid peanuts.

We note the fact that the members in SBV handle bulk cash and making deliveries of such to stores and banks across the province and as a result some level of impact may be felt at the point where cash may be required during the period. We hope that the employers will take full responsibility for any shortages.

We declare our unwavering support to our affiliate SASBO on this action and we understand fully that this action was their last option after the employer showed no appetite to resolve these matters after more than five months since April 2018.
