COSATU Call Center Number 010 002 2590

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has recently launched a new call center to provide much-needed assistance to workers facing labour-related challenges. This dedicated resource aims to offer support, information, and guidance to both members of COSATU-affiliated unions and unorganized workers, ensuring that they have a place to turn for help with workplace issues.

COSATU North West Condenms the Attempt by Ratlou Municipality to Dismiss Workers

COSATU condemn in the strongest possible terms the intention by the Ratlou Municipality to dismiss workers. The federation and its affiliated union SAMWU will challenge the Municipality if they proceed with their intention to dismiss workers.

This is happening despite our call for a moratorium on job losses and also after having the president sign a framework committing government to such a moratorium at the Presidential Job Summit. Workers can’t be used for internal battles of politicians. We therefore call upon the Mayor of Ratlou to instruct the officials of the municipality to desist from this vicious action. If this does not happen we promise to mobilise our members for a massive action in defence of jobs.

We further call upon the Premier and the PTT to urgently meet with Cosatu & SAMWU to resolve this matter.
