The Congress of South African Trade Unions will convene a one-day Special Central Executive Committee [CEC] meeting on Monday the 4th of February 2019-tomorrow- to discuss preparations for the COSATU National Strike. The strike is planned for next month on the 13th of February.

The strike will be about fighting against the ongoing Job losses that are taking place across all the sectors of the economy.

The Job Summit last year failed to reach put a moratorium on retrenchments and the federation, ultimately, resolved last year to go on a national strike on the 13th of February.

The meeting will be followed by the customary media briefing to communicate the outcomes of the gathering: The details of the media briefing are as follows:
