The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] will on Wednesday April 17, 2019 convene a memorial lecture on the life and times of former COSATU President Cde John Gomomo in Kabokweni, Nelspruit.
Cde John as he was affectionately known by many in the trade union movement served the trade union movement with distinction and took part in the four years long talks that led to the formation of COSATU in December 1985. He was an embodiment of the best traditions of the Congress movement, he was a worker, a negotiator, an activist and a leader of the ANC and the SACP and served the people without any expectation of material or personal gain.

Venue: Elijah Mango Multi-Purpose Hall, Kabokweni, Mpumalanga.
The General Secretary of COSATU, Cde Bheki Ntshalintshali, will deliver the memorial lecture. The ANC, SACP and SANCO will deliver messages of support.
Before the lecture the leadership of NEHAWU, COSATU, SACP and ANC will do a blitz and a door to door visits in the Kabokweni area as part of the campaign towards an overwhelming victory of the ANC.
