The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] invites the media to a press conference on the healthy lifestyle campaign the national union is embarking upon.
The national union will be launching concrete health-based campaign as part of its contribution in the broader transformation of the South African Healthcare System under the theme “Healthy mind in a healthy body” in anticipation of the full implementation of the National Health Insurance [NHI].
The press conference will be used to share full details on the programme to be undertaken by the NEHAWU including:
· Our contribution in the fight against non-communicable diseases and mental health
· Seminar on the NHI, Imperatives of Primary Healthcare, and Infrastructural support mechanisms, to be convened on the 17th September 2019
· The inaugural NEHAWU games festival that will host sporting activities to promote a healthy lifestyle and provide free health check-ups and screenings on the 21st to the 23rd September 2019.
