COSATU wishes SACTWU a successful and productive 14th National Congress

The Congress of South African Trade Unions wishes its affiliate the Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers’ Union a successful 14th National Congress. The 14t h National Congress of SACTWU is currently taking place in Durban. This represents the union’s firm commitment to the principles of democracy and workers control.

We wish all the delegates productive discussions and hope they will continue the union’s tradition of firm unity and insightful analysis of issues facing the labour movement. SACTWU is one of the federations most innovative and forward-looking unions that never disappoints in tackling issues facing the workers and the working class.

Workers are grappling with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, retrenchments and prolonged economic stagnation. There is also deterioration in workplace safety and the rightwing hardliners inside and outside of government are trying to exploit the economic crisis by reintroducing the failed policies of the past.

This congress should be used to come up with answers that will help the labour movement to better defend the workers and the working class. We hope to see a stronger and more united SACTWU coming out of this 14th National Congress

We wish SATWU a successful congress and productive session of a workers parliament.

Long Live SACTWU! Long Live!
