On Friday, the 27th September 2019, COSATU and one of its affiliated unions in the Banking and Financial Sector, SASBO will lead a Section 77 Strike.

The Strike is against retrenchments that are currently taking place in the Banking Sector due to digitization. COSATU and SASBO believe a number of measures must be explored to mitigate the situation, including re-skilling & up-skilling of workers, regulation of top officials salaries , who are currently paid millions in bonuses.

The federation will convene a media briefing to inform the public on the state of mobilization and readiness. The media briefing is arranged as follows:
