COSATU mourns the death of Xolani Gwala

The Congress of South African Trade Unions joins millions of people in South Africa to mourn the death of veteran broadcaster Xolani Gwala. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues and his friends.

Xolani Gwala was a formidable broadcaster who contributed immensely in facilitating and shaping the South African public discourse.

He has been a familiar face and voice that held the powerful accountable and asked relevant and probing questions to tell the South African story. His untimely death has created a vacuum not just in the media industry but also in the country that he served with such excellence.

He will always be remembered as a humble and dedicated journalist, who commanded respect and possessed credibility. He used his considerable experience in the media field to serve this country with integrity.

He represented the best values of this country and he was an exemplary personality anchored and guided by the spirit of Ubuntu. May his soul rest in Peace!
