The Congress of South African Trade Unions joins millions of workers in South Africa to mourn veteran trade unionist and revolutionary Comrade Andrew Zulu. We send our heartfelt condolences to his family and his friends.
Cde Zulu was a formidable trade unionist who contributed immensely in building the trade union movement and in shaping the South African democratic dispensation.
He led workers struggles as a leader of NUMSA, Fosatu and COSATU, where he led the trade union movement with integrity and excellence.
He will always be remembered for his contribution to the struggle for social justice and the emancipation of all those at the bottom end of the economic pyramid.
He represented the best values of the revolutionary alliance and may his soul rest in peace.
Cde Andrew Zulu’s memorial service will be held today, and we encourage all workers to attend the service in their numbers. The details are as follows:
