The Congress of South African Trade Unions in the North West province would like to take this opportunity to wish Mme Rebecca Kotane well on her 108 birthday.

Mme Kotane is indeed very blessed to have lived up to this day and we thank her family for taking good care of her. She is the only remain elder in the movement who is the same age as the ANC.

As the federation and the broader mass democratic movement we continue to celebrate the life of Mme Kotane. We honour her and her husband and their family’s enormous contribution in shaping the struggle of our country up to it liberation.

We owe it to the generation of Mme Kotane to protect democracy and fight to liberate South Africans from the shackles of poverty.
