NEHAWU TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY ON SUNDAY AT 14H00 AT THE PARKTONIAN HOTEL

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] will be celebrating the 2020 International Women’s Day under the theme “Role of working class women in class struggle”  on Sunday [March 8, 2020] at 14h00 at the Protea Hotel Parktonian, in Johannesburg.

The event will be used to interrogate the role that women should play in the broader struggle to build a classless society that does not discriminate people based on gender. Discussions will also focus on the fight to end the scourge of Gender Based Violence [GBV], the National Women’s Day programme scheduled to take place on the 9th August 2020 that will largely influence the content programme for the 16 days of activism against women and children abuse in December 2020.

Participants to this historic event will be female leaders of the national union drawn from the nine provinces, invited guests from the tripartite alliance, and the Mass Democratic Movement [MDM] structures.

The following speakers will address the event:

·       Cde Jenny Schreiner SACP Central Committee [CC] and Politburo member
