The South African Emergency Personnel’s Union (SAEPU) is concerned by the arrogance of the employer in relation to the last tabling of CPI for the leg of Resolution 1 of 2018. We are very much worried because workers are expected to get increase around the 15th of next month (April) and the employer is still adamant to review the resolution.
We regard this as planned strategy to frustrate workers because we wrote a letter via PSCBC to check the recent tabling of CPI by employer and the response was to review the resolution.
We are calling on employer to reconsider the declaration of war and table the CPI because he won’t stand up for the war considering the fact that Public Service Workers will go on the streets and the following will affect the country badly:
1. Corona virus will be uncontrollable.
2. Economy will be worse from Recession.
3. Economy will be downgraded.
We further demand the government to clearly define Public Service worker because according to our understanding everyone who gets funds from National Treasure is a public service worker including municipalities, SOEs, Parliamentarians (State President) and many more.
