COSATU Call Center Number 010 002 2590

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has recently launched a new call center to provide much-needed assistance to workers facing labour-related challenges. This dedicated resource aims to offer support, information, and guidance to both members of COSATU-affiliated unions and unorganized workers, ensuring that they have a place to turn for help with workplace issues.

COSATU Eastern salutes nurses on the International Nurses Day

COSATU in the Eastern Cape takes wishes all nurses a wonderful International Nurses Day. This is a day dedicated to the nurses of the world in appreciation of their role and contribution to society.

Nurses are carers who ensure that the well-being of patients is prioritized at the Health Centres, both public and private. We praise them for their commitment to ensuring that we have a healthy society. We admire them for their dedication, and we applaud them for their bravery in dealing with the difficult and frightening of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The outbreak of COVID 19 has turned the spotlight on the inadequate safety conditions they work under. The inadequacy of safety in their working environment makes them vulnerable to infection. If we are to win the fight against the COVID 19 pandemic, the safety of front-line workers must be a priority.

We call upon the Eastern Cape Government to prioritize the safety of the front-line workers. Nurses are our soldiers in the battle against COVID 19. We cannot afford to lose soldiers and still hope to win the war against COVID 19.

We wish all nurses a happy and safe International Nurses Day.
