The Congress of South African Trade unions in the North West Province have learned with sadness about the passing of Comrade Toffies Moemi. Comrade Toffies was the former deputy Provincial Secretary of NEHAWU in the North West province, a position he performed with conscientiousness.
He was also a member of the ANC and he also assisted in establishing a branch of the SACP in Mamusa in the early eighties.
He was a committed comrade who served the union and the movement with dedication. He was opposed to corruption and factionalism to the point that he would personally fight them.
COSATU extend its heartfelt condolences to the Moemi Family and NEHAWU. We will remember comrade Toffies as a dedicated and exceptional leader who made a huge impact in the lives of all comrades and workers.
We shall miss this revolutionary activist and we dip our banners in his honour.
His legacy will forever live in our hearts!
May his soul rest in Peace!
