NEHAWU MOURNS THE PASSING OF COMRADE NTSIKELELO MACOLLEN JACK

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] in the Northern Cape mourns the untimely passing of Comrade Ntsikelelo Jack.

Comrade Mac Jack as he was affectionately known, was a progressive education activist, leader of the trade union movement and the African National Congress [ANC]. He was a member of the 6th Administration and a dedicated MEC of Education at the time of his demise. During his tenure as the MEC of education, he was able to bring labour peace in the department which was largely drawn from his lived experience as a leader of the South African Democratic Teachers’ Union [SADTU] and later as a NEHAWU member when he was employed in the Department of Education’s Pixley Ka Seme District Office.

NEHAWU in the province dips its banner in honour of this fallen, dedicated cadre of our movement, a revolutionary and an unassuming leader who served workers with diligence and selflessness. We are deeply saddened by his death and want to take this opportunity to convey our heartfelt condolences to his family, his comrades and friends.
