NEHAWU TO BRIEF THE MEDIA ON THE STATE OF READINESS AND DETAILS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROGRAMME OF ACTION TO DEFEND AND PROTECT WORKERS AGAINST COVID-19

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] is inviting members of the media to a press conference on Thursday August 20, 2020 at 12pm.

The aim of the press conference is to brief both the media and the public on the state of readiness and details of the implementation of the national programme of action to defend and protect workers against COVID-19. The plan of action was adopted by the Special National Executive Committee after analysing the outcomes of our fact-finding mission report.

The national union is steaming ahead with its national programme of action and all the phases which culminate into a complete withdrawal of our labour power in all sectors we organise if there is no response favourable to our interests will be explained in details including the upcoming strike at the National Health Laboratories Service [NHLS] which will be used as a launching pad for the broader national programme.

Details of the press conference are as follows:

Date: Thursday August 20, 2020

Time: 12pm

Venue: Protea Hotel Parktonian, 120 De Korte St, Braamfontein, Johannesburg
