The reasons given by the NPA to justify withdrawing charges against Impala CEO are absurd, irrational, and unconstitutional

The Congress of South African Trade Unions in the North West is offended by the absurd and irrational reasons given by the NPA to justify their withdrawal of a case against the CEO of Impala platinum mines in Rustenburg.

The NPA is justifying this withdrawal of a case by arguing that Impala is a major economic player in the country, and it is also in international company that is why they had to withdraw the charges against its CEO

This scandalous behaviour by the NPA explains why this country is fast becoming a Mafia State. There is no equality before the law and democratic laws, have been subverted from within, their original purposes redefined by the courts and legislative bodies to serve corporate power.

This confirms our previous assertion that our court system was only designed to railroad the poor into jails and prisons and not to touch the elite. Our judiciary system was never fair and just to the poor but now it has stopped all the pretense and is throwing away the Constitution of the country.

They are treating people based on their social standing and creed. This is made worse by the silence of our politicians and public representatives. They are silent about the crimes of the ruling oligarchy and are indifferent to the plight of the poor They pretend we do not live in a corporate oligarchy

What happened in the Bafokeng Magistrate Court on Tuesday and the explanation of the NPA is an indication that the ruling elites no longer have legitimacy and they are destroying our democracy and replacing it with a Mafia State.
