COSATU Call Center Number 010 002 2590

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has recently launched a new call center to provide much-needed assistance to workers facing labour-related challenges. This dedicated resource aims to offer support, information, and guidance to both members of COSATU-affiliated unions and unorganized workers, ensuring that they have a place to turn for help with workplace issues.

NEHAWU WELCOMES THE APPOINTMENT OF THE NECSA CEO MR LOYISO TYABASHE

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) as the majority union at the Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Africa (NECSA) welcomes the cabinet announcement of the appointment of the new CEO, Mr Loyiso Tyabashe.

This is a very important development in strengthening governance, restoring stability and giving leadership to the repurposing of the NECSA group. This appointment puts an end to the acting circus of the past two years that has regressed the organisation and workers interests.

Mr Tyabashe is not a stranger in the nuclear industry and has 20 years’ experience working for ESKOM nuclear division and he holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

We commend the NECSA Board led by Mr David Nicholls for the speed within which it handled and concluded the recruitment process. Furthermore, we commend Minister Mantashe for equally prioritizing the appointment.

Our expectations from the new CEO is amongst others that he drives government mandate to rationalize and repurpose the NECSA Group in order to create a sustainable business model.

We are looking forward to work with him in taking the Necsa group towards growth and prosperity. NECSA has all it takes to be profitable and create more jobs with a leader like him. We wish him all the best in his new job.
