SAEPU IS NOT YET CONVINCED THAT THE JOHNSON & JOHNSON VACCINE WILL PROVIDE IMMUNITY AGAINST COVID-19

The South African Emergency Personnel’s Union (SAEPU) is not yet convinced that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will provide immunity against Covid-19 because it is still regarded as research. Equally, we are very much worried that the vaccine will be given to political leaders and friends misleading the public that they are making an example or leading from the front. It will affect the purpose of the distribution.

Front line workers must be prioritized at all costs. Friends and politicians can still work from home. We must also prepare our destitute community members about the 3rd wave of the virus which is still going to affect us so badly.

We are calling on everyone to continue to follow all the precautionary measures to stop the spread of Covid-19.
