The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) Mpumalanga Province will be convening its 11th Provincial Congress from the 19th – 21st May 2021 under the theme “Strengthen workplace organisation, deepen class consciousness and advance internationalism” in White River.
The Congress will also make an assessment of the state of the union in the province in the past four years and plan for the next four years including electing a new leadership. The congress will also extensively discuss the international correlation of class forces, the state of the National Democratic Revolution (NDR), the crisis of neoliberalism and its agenda of austerity measures and the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, health and education.
The National Treasurer, Cde Kgomotso Makhuphola, will give a keynote address to the congress, whilst leadership of the Alliance led by COSATU in the province are expected to address the delegates to the congress.
The congress is scheduled as follows:
- Date: 19 – 21 May 2021
- Time : 14h00 on the opening day which is on Wednesday May 19, 2021
- Venue: Pine Lake Resort R40 Hazyview Road, White River
