COSATU Call Center Number 010 002 2590

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has recently launched a new call center to provide much-needed assistance to workers facing labour-related challenges. This dedicated resource aims to offer support, information, and guidance to both members of COSATU-affiliated unions and unorganized workers, ensuring that they have a place to turn for help with workplace issues.

POPCRU Update on wage negotiations

As had been communicated on Wednesday, the 7th of July 2021, wage negotiations commenced again today, the 9th of July 2021, wherein the employer presented their final offer.
The employer has not moved an inch from their previous offer, and have refused to entertain any substantive issues in the draft agreement, indicating that what is contained in the draft agreement is their final offer, that being 1.5% pay progression and a non-pensionable cash gratuity.
POPCRU rejects the offer on the basis that it does not increase salary notches of public servants, sector council agreement on grade progression has always ensured that qualifying public servants receive their pay progression.
We are left with no option but to follow PSCBC dispute resolution procedures. We will constantly update on the developments on the matter.
