The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] denounces the orchestrated and well-financed American counter-revolutionary agenda of destabilizing Cuba through violence, social unrest, and public disorder to collapse the country.
The latest attempts to destabilize Cuba form part of the broader agenda of strengthening the decades of the commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.
The criminal American blockade continues to impose hardships on the Cuban people and has affected the functioning of the Cuban economy, by severely reducing income from exports of goods and services, access to fuel and medicines, and medical supplies. The blockade continues to impose many burdens on the people of Cuba.
As NEHAWU, we call upon the Cuban people to stand firm in opposing any attempts by the imperialist forces that seek the reverse of the socialist revolutionary progress of Cuba.
We equally call on all progressive forces across the world to denounce and oppose the latest maneuverings by the Washington administration to destabilize Cuba.
Lastly, as NEHAWU, we call on the United States of America to lift the criminal economic, and financial blockade against Cuba. We also call on the Washington administration to immediately stop interfering and meddling in Cuba’s affairs.
