 “SACTWU members at Orange Grove set to march

31 March 2022 

We refer to our media alerts of earlier this week, one advising of the postponement of our Orange Grove march. We advise that the march is now scheduled for tomorrow, as follows:

On Friday 1st  April 2022, hundreds of SACTWU members employed at Orange Grove Farm will take to the streets in pursuit of their living wage demands. The workers at Orange Grove Farm have been on a living wage strike for almost 12 weeks now, since 18th January 2022.  They will march and deliver memorandums of demands to the Department of Employment & Labour, SAPS, Orange Grove Management, and KZN Marketing & Merchandising.

Details of the march are as follows:

Date:                    Friday 1st  April 2022

Time:                   Gathering from 05h30, march to commence @ 10h30

Location:             Gathering point at Civic Hall, McKenzie Street, in Dundee in KZN.

Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the march.
