Media Invite: SAMWU to deliver a memorandum of demands to Lepelle Northern Water

Members of the South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) will be marching and delivering a memorandum of demands to the management of the Lepelle Norther Water in Polokwane on Friday, 22 April 2022. 

Lepelle Northern Water is a state-owned bulk water provider to almost 90% of Limpopo province’s residents and businesses. Issues leading to the march include; 

  1. Safety of workers.
  2. The Board’s failure in its fiduciary duties.
  3. Implementation of collective agreements. 
  4. Unilateral change of conditions of service. 
  5. Insourcing of services at the waterboard.

Members of the media are hereby invited to attend and cover the march which will take place as follows;

Date: Friday 22 April 2022

Time: from 10:00

Venue: SABC Park, Polokwane then proceed to march to Lepelle Northern Water offices on 1 Landros Mare Street, Polokwane.
