COSATU WESTERN CAPE IS READY FOR MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Western Cape) is ready for this year’s May Day celebrations.

Our Western Cape event will be staged at the Langa Stadium on Sunday 01st May 2022. The day’s proceedings will start with a protest march in the morning, from Langa Stadium at 08H30 to the Langa Police Station where we will hand over a memorandum to the Provincial Commissioner of SAPS and the Station Commander. The purpose of the march is to register workers ‘concerns about the devastating effects of Gender Based Violence and crime in general in Langa and broader communities.

The workers and members of the community will then march back to the Langa Stadium to commence with the MAY DAY celebrations from 10H00 until 15h00, where the crowd will be addressed by our Alliance Partners and the keynote speaker, cde Freda Oosthuysen (COSATU National Treasurer).

We will be having a day of fun and we invite people to bring their families. We have also put together an exciting entertainment programme, with musical performance by various artists.

There will also be food stalls and various other goods for sale.
