COSATU Mpumalanga ready to host colossal May Day celebrations rallies in 2022.
It is all systems go for the Mpumalanga Congress of South African Trade Unions to host its May Day celebrations, to be held under the theme
“Deepen the Back-to-Basics Campaign, Consolidate the struggle for the NDR and Advance the struggle for Socialism”
The event will take place in form of 3 decentralised rallies to be held in the 3 regions of the province in the following venues:
• Oewersig Hall (Nelspruit)
• Joseph Nthlane Hall (Bethal)
• Puma stadium (Witbank)

workers will converge in the above-mentioned venues to raise the socio-economic plight facing workers in the province and nationally to cover for the following sectors.
Nelspruit Rally – Oewersig Hall
➢ The persistent upsurge of the rate of poverty, unemployment, and inequality.
➢ To fight the high rate of job losses and retrenchments.
➢ To push for the advancement of measures to stabilise and sustain our SOE’s and other economic drivers.
➢ To fight against the informalisation of work such as labour brokering and casualization.
➢ To defend collective bargaining and respect of signed collective agreements.

➢ Fight for provision of quality service delivery in municipalities and quality health care for all
➢ Fight against the cancer of corruption patronage and crass materialism in the state organs
➢ The advancement of health and safety working conditions for all
Bethal Rally – Joseph Nthlane Hall
➢ The resolution of outstanding land claims
➢ The resolve of gross violation of human rights meted against farm dwellers and workers
➢ To monitor the implementation of the extension of security of Tenure rights
➢ To deal with the gross violation of labour legislation governing farm workers
➢ Fight for the insourcing of security officers towards permanent employment and advance decent work for all
➢ The advancement of health and safety working conditions for all
Witbank Rally – Puma Stadium
➢ Fight for a developmental, interventionist state and growth recovery micro economic policy
➢ Deal with the scourge of the triple crisis that is poverty, unemployment, and inequality
➢ Fight against outsourcing of basic services.
➢ No to privatisation
➢ Access to land allocation to residence and housing
➢ Attack of collective bargaining
➢ Provision of improved service delivery for all
➢ Quality accessible and affordable transport for all
➢ Provision of quality health and safety for all
➢ Fight against substance, drug abuse and GBV
➢ Provision of quality reliable energy for all and fight against unbundling of the power utility Eskom and its privatisation
➢ The advancement of health and safety working conditions for all
