COSATU Eastern Cape May Day events
As part of celebrating International Workers Day commonly known as May Day, COSATU Eastern Cape will be holding activities at four centres in the province on 01 May 2022 as follows:
Komani (Queenstown)
The march starts at 10h00 from Tobi Kula Indoor Sports Centre and proceeds to Department od Employment and Labour where a memorandum will be handed over to a Government Official. After the handing over of the memorandum, the marchers will go back to Tobi Kula Indoor Sports Centre where the rally will take place.
East London
The march starts at 10h00 from Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane and proceed to the Department of Education offices at Dr W.B. Rubusana College of Education where a memorandum will be handed over to a Department of Employment and Labour official. After the handing over of the memorandum the marchers will go back to Sisa Dukashe Stadium where the rally will take place.
Mthatha
The march will be start at 10h00 from Freedom Square and proceed to Mthatha 2010 Stadium where a memorandum will be handed over to a Department of Employment and Labour official. After handing over the memorandum, the rally will take place at the stadium.
Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth)
The march will start at the open space outside N.U.2 Hall in Motherwell and proceed to Kamvelihle Police Station where a memorandum will be received by Station Commander. The march will then proceed to Raymond Mhlaba Indoor SportsCentre where the rally will take place.
We are calling upon workers and members of the communities to be join the events in their respective centres across the province and be part of celebrating this year’s May Day Celebrations after two years of virtual May Day events.
