The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is delighted to announce that it is officially a member of the Metal Industry and Engineering Bargaining Council (MEIBC). This follows an application that the union submitted in March 2022 which followed an extensive membership verification process.

This is after the NUM extended its scope in 2020 and Amalgamated LIMUSA in 2021 as a result workers have been joining the union in numbers which has led to this application being successful.

NUM is more delighted with the fact that members in the sector shall have a new voice of reason through NUM in addressing multiple challenges confronting workers.

We are also committed to working with progressive organizations in the Council to advance the interest of our members.
