This year’s World Day for Decent Work, 7 October, is dedicated to the millions of workers around the world seeking wage justice.
Wage justice is a cornerstone of the social contract between workers, governments and employers that has been broken in the interests of corporate greed.
In South Africa, we have seen this phenomenon unfolding over the past three years where collective bargaining which is part of the labour rights has been undermined by employers, both in the public and private sector.
As COSATU in the North West, we will be part of the international campaign demanding decent work for all the working people of our country and the world.
In the North West we have planned four activities which are as follows

2. The end to GBV femicide and all other social ills
3. The fight against corruption and maladministration
4. The fight against the rising cost of living
5. The compliance to the basic condition of employment act and many others
COSATU calls on all workers and the members of the community to come out in numbers to join the marches in the areas which are near to them.
