COSATU Mpumalanga statement on the International Day of Action for Decent Work

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU)in Mpumalanga will on the 7th of October 2022, embark on numerous marches across the province to commemorate the International Day for Decent Work.

The day is marked to address factors that impede workers’ rights, such as conditions of employment, safety and all other issues related to their physical and mental integrity in the workplace.

Workers in Mpumalanga have no option but to go on strike to demand action to bridge the wage gaps as this is depriving households and communities of any chance of a decent life and a decent future.

The Federation will deliver the memorandum of demands to both the MEC of Agriculture, Land Affairs and Rural Developments and the Premier of the province respectively. COSATU will use the protest action to demand for responses of the previously presented memorandums to both the recipients.
