COSATU NORTHERN CAPE MOURNS THE DEATH OF COMRADE CHRIS “CHE” MATLHAKO

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) in the Northern Cape is deeply saddened by the death of Comrade Chris “Che” Matlhako.

Comrade Matlhako has always been part of the workers in the province, nationally and internationally and played a pivotal role in advancing the workers’ struggles against the barbaric conduct of capitalism, imperialism and patronage by greedy employers in perpetuating exploitation and an onslaught against our National Democratic Revolution.

In him we have lost a fighter, valiant, selfless and a dedicated servant who refused to be silenced by material inducements nor betray the struggle for self-gain and popularity.

The Federation in the province therefore bestows unto him a promise to keep the Red Flag flying very high and make a commitment to continue fighting against austerity measures and all forms of exploitation brought by the system of capitalism.

We convey our heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, friends, the entire Alliance and revolutionary structures that he served with utmost distinction.

May His Revolutionary Soul Rest in Eternal Peace – The Struggle Continues!
