COSATU Call Center Number 010 002 2590

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has recently launched a new call center to provide much-needed assistance to workers facing labour-related challenges. This dedicated resource aims to offer support, information, and guidance to both members of COSATU-affiliated unions and unorganized workers, ensuring that they have a place to turn for help with workplace issues.

SACTWU SETTLES FOOTWEAR SECTOR WAGE NEGOTIATIONS

The COSATU-affiliated Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers Union (SACTWU) has now also settled its 2023 wage negotiations for the Footwear sector.

Our trade union signed the new footwear wage agreement yesterday, 28 June 2023.

With effect from 1 July 2023, our footwear sector members will receive a 7% wage increase.

The wage settlement follows negotiations with footwear employers represented by the Southern African Footwear & Leather Industries Association (SAFLIA).

The negotiations took place under the auspices of the National Bargaining Council of the Leather Industry of South Africa (NBCLI), the oldest bargaining council in the country (established on 26 July 1926).
