It’s all systems go for the National Day of Action march in Gauteng

The Congress of South African Trade Unions(COSATU) in Gauteng is pleased with the preparations for the upcoming National Day of Action, to be held in Johannesburg on 6 July 2023. The march will start at COSATU HOUSE at 9:00 am. We have applied for the  Section 77 certificate from NEDLAC, making this a protected strike. With the support of all our affiliates, we invite all workers and the working class to join us.

We will be marching against the following issues:

# Attacks on collective bargaining in all sectors

#Reduce high interest rates

#Repo rates

#Address the high unemployment rate

#Prevention of crime and corruption

#Energy and water crises

#Gender-based Violence

#Municipal System Act

To ensure our voices are heard, we will deliver the memorandum to the following institutions:

# South African Local Government Association (SALGA)

# South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC)

# Department of Employment and Labour

# Office of the Premier

COSATU Gauteng urges all workers, regardless of their sector or affiliation, to stand in solidarity with us and participate in this important march. Together, we can fight for a more just and equitable society that prioritizes the rights and well-being of the working class.
