The Congress of South African Trade Unions Mpumalanga Gender Committee will be leading pickets to fight against the spike of gender-based violence, women, child abuse and femicide.
The pickets will be directed to Witbank Magistrate court in demand for pending and prolonged gender-based violence court cases towards their final prosecution.
The action will be under the theme “Embrace Equity.”
COSATU Mpumalanga will be leading the protest action in order to rise the plight of Gender- based violence, women and child abuse.
The Picket aims to address the following atrocities:
#Stop discrimination against transgender people
# Stop violence and harassment in the workplace
#Stop killing the LGBIQ+ community -workers demand no discrimination on LGBTIQ+ workers!
#We demand justice for all GBV and femicide victims
#GBV is a human right violation, end it now – we demand life sentences for GBVF cases
# Stop coercing victims to settle out of court with the perpetrators, it is a violation of the justice system.
