The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) in Gauteng is deeply saddened by the passing of COSATU Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee member, COSATU Sedibeng Cluster Chairperson and Branch Secretary of SADTU in Orange Farm, Comrade Thulani Mthimkulu. COSATU in the province expresses its profound and deepest condolences to the Mthimkulu family.

Comrade Thulani was a true working-class activist. Worker struggles always came first in his life and he was indeed a hero and a giant in his own right who fought to unite workers. His life epitomised the best of what a good trade unionist should be. He was a dedicated and exceptional leader who made a huge impact in the lives of his colleagues, the members of COSATU and members of SADTU, his home.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time, and we wish that the Lord gives the Mthimkulu family strength. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family during this difficult time. May the soul and undying spirit of our comrade be at peace with our Heavenly father.

May his Revolutionary Soul Rest in Revolutionary Peace.
