COSATU North West calls on the 7th Provincial Administration to hit the ground running

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) in the North West is expecting the new provincial government to hit the ground running.

The Judge President of the Mahikeng High Court will swear-in the new members of the legislature on Friday, 14 June at the North West Provincial Legislature.

The first sitting of the legislature is also expected to elect the Presiding Officers of the House and to elect the Premier of the province.

COSATU North West congratulates all the candidates who have been elected to serve in the 7th administration. We hope that these men and women are equal to the task of combating the challenges facing our province. The North West province has the highest unemployment in the country and also has a deficit when it comes to the delivery of basic infrastructure.

We expect the 7th administration to focus on the following:

1.  To grow the economy in the manner that it will create jobs and improve the livelihood of the people of this province.

2.    To provide quality service and improve access to clean drinking water.

3.    Provide access to fully resourced health services.

4.  To revitalise the infrastructure of the province in a manner that will address the road backlog and other economic infrastructure in the province.

The Federation wishes all elected MPLs well and calls on them to hit the ground running as the residents of the North West have put their trust in them.
