We are living in a democratic country whereby every citizen have the right to freedom of speech but that does not justify the remarks made by KZN ANC Provincial Secretary on NEHAWU members just because they criticised the government of national unity ( GNU)
SAEPU normally don’t respond to this kinds of gibberish but we cannot let comrade Mtolo get away with his stinky behaviour this time around. It has brought to our attention that when the government is failing to deliver its services to the people they then shift the blame to COSATU affiliates (Unions). According to Kwa-zulu natal ANC provincial secretary (cde mtolo) when a patient dies at the benches of the hospitals due to lack of beds in the wardrooms, the reason behind is NEHAWU. When payments are delayed at SASSA the blame is on NEHAWU, once again when people get to Home-Affairs to request a death certificate and not getting attention from the staff NEHAWU is the reason behind that.
Comrade Mtolo is neglecting the duties that were assigned to him as ANC Provincial Secretary by his officials and making it his business to always interfere and drag not only NEHAWU but COSATU affiliates in general on the mud. His behaviour is questionable because you cannot run to media platforms to get fame on the things that does not concern you, cde mtolo should have considered journalism as his career path and relinquish his current position because politically he is illiterate.
This is not the first attack made by Bheki Mtolo, he once attacked SADTU just because they questioned the decision made by the MEC that learners should wear cultural attires. He went on and attacked another COSATU affiliate (SAMWU) when they embarked on a march to demand permanent employment and forcefully applied pressure on Ethekwini Municipality to terminate employment contracts.
Some things just need common sense , it will be NEHAWU members who will be nursing Mtolo back to health when his mental illness strikes back yet he has the audacity to shame the union forgetting that the very same union was pampering their family members during covid 19 and now he is looking a gift horse in the mouth.
