COSATU Call Center Number 010 002 2590

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has recently launched a new call center to provide much-needed assistance to workers facing labour-related challenges. This dedicated resource aims to offer support, information, and guidance to both members of COSATU-affiliated unions and unorganized workers, ensuring that they have a place to turn for help with workplace issues.

COSATU North West ready for International Day for Decent Work

This year’s World Day for Decent Work, 7 October, is dedicated to the millions of workers around the world seeking peace and democracy.

Peace and democracy are the cornerstone of very society which is willing to thrive and be prosperous.

In South Africa we have seen this phenomenon where peace and democracy have been undermined in the workplace. This is manifesting in many forms of exploitation and undermining of workers’ rights.

As COSATU in the North West, we will be part of the international campaign demanding decent work for all workers in the country and around the world.

The planned march in the North West will take place as follows:

Place            : Rustenburg taxi rank

Date             : 07 October 2024

Time             : 09H30

End Venue    : Rustenburg  Municipal Offices

Our demands include the following:

1.    The creation of safe and healthy workplaces

2.    The end to GBV femicide and all other social ills

3.    The fight against corruption and maladministration

4.    The fight against the rising cost of living

5.    The compliance to the Basic Condition of Employment Act

6.    The protection and advancement of collective bargaining

COSATU calls on all workers and the members of the community to come out in numbers to join the march.
