Honorable Minister and Deputy Minister,  esteemed stakeholders, and fellow partners in the Labour Activation Program, COSATU extends its heartfelt congratulations to all involved in this flagship initiative. The signing of this pledge signifies a critical step forward in addressing the urgent need for job creation in South Africa.

As a Federation of workers’ unions, COSATU firmly believes that the creation of quality, sustainable jobs is a cornerstone of our economic growth and social stability.

Today, as we join hands in making a commitment to job creation across various sectors, we are reaffirming our shared responsibility in building a more inclusive and equitable economy for all. This partnership between government, business, and labour is a clear demonstration of our collective will to confront unemployment, which continues to impact millions of South Africans.

We stand united with the Department of Employment and Labour in ensuring that the Labour Activation Program delivers, not only more jobs but also jobs that empower workers, provide dignity, and offer opportunities for growth.
