COSATU Call Center Number 010 002 2590

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has recently launched a new call center to provide much-needed assistance to workers facing labour-related challenges. This dedicated resource aims to offer support, information, and guidance to both members of COSATU-affiliated unions and unorganized workers, ensuring that they have a place to turn for help with workplace issues.

COSATU Free State mourns the tragic passing of the three police officers who are members of POPCRU

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) in the Free State is pained by the tragic death of the young police officers who still had so much to offer the community of the Free State and South Africa.

Constables Cebekhulu Linda, Keamogetswe Buys and Boipelo Senoge’s bodies were recovered from the Hennops River in Centurion. Their passing cuts deep not only because they were young officers, but they were members of our dedicated Affiliate, the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU). Three of our very own class generation and workers who committed their lives to serve others.

The province of Free State has yet to heal from the loss of the young South African National Defence Force soldiers, and now we are stuck by this latest blow.

This tragedy is a painful reminder that the agony and devastation of death knows no boundary, it touches all. Losing a son or a daughter is every parent’s worst nightmare, our hearts are with their loved ones and all those in mourning in the province and the country at large.

COSATU commends the government of the Free State for not only supporting the bereaved families, but for taking a leading role in ensuring that these officers receive a fitting tribute.

Issued by the Provincial Executive Committee of the Free State:
