The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) in the Eastern Cape congratulates its affiliate, National Education Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU) for holding a successful Provincial Congress from 4 to 6 June 2025. 

The congress was held under the theme, “Strengthen workplace organisation to defend collective bargaining, deepen class consciousness and advance internationalism.”

The congress declared to reposition itself, deal with the challenges confronting the working class while seizing the opportunities presented by the moment. The newly elected Provincial Office Bearers who will breathe life and give meaning to declaration are:

Chairperson: Mwezi Ntshuntshe

Deputy Chairperson: Mawethu Ndyalvane

Secretary: Mlungiseleli Ncapayi

Deputy Secretary: Samkelo Msila

Treasurer: Nonkoliso Cetywayo
