The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) will today (Tuesday 6th December 2022) remember and honour its fallen heroes and heroin Bonginkosi Mrasi, Zukile Maskot, Lulama Madyosi, Thantaswa Sikani, Retshidisitswe Mbirha and Dumisani Futshana at a memorial service organised as followed:
Date: TODAY – 6th December 2022
Venue: Kloof Mine Sports Ground
Time: 11am for 1pm
The comrades died on 27th November 2022 in a horrific car accident on the N4 toll road between Middelburg and Emalahleni while they were driving back to Gauteng after the National Youth Structure Conference in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
The NUM leaders are expected to address the thousands of members who will attend the memorial service. Funerals of these fallen comrades are planned for this weekend to take place at various places in the Eastern Cape province.
