COSATU congratulates its sister federation, FEDUSA, on its successful congress

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) congratulates its sister federation, the Federation of Unions of South Africa (FEDUSA) on its successful congress.

We welcome the newly elected leadership of FEDUSA and look forward to working closely with its collective led by President Refitlhile Baloyi and General Secretary Riefdah Ajam.  FEDUSA has been a reliable partner to COSATU at Nedlac and many other sites of working-class struggles.

COSATU is confident that the struggles that unite workers under COSATU and FEDUSA will continue to grow from strength to strength.  We are comforted that under our respective leadership collectives, organised labour will be united as we defend workers’ jobs and wages, campaign to improve their working conditions, demand the full enforcement of our progressive labour laws and champion struggles across working-class communities.

We remain guided by the visionary call of COSATU’s founding President, Elijah Barayi, of one industry, one union, one country, one federation and look forward to deepening the bonds of solidarity with the leadership and members of FEDUSA.
