The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (SADTU) in KwaZulu Natal (KZN) cordially invites the media to a briefing to report on challenges in the KZN department of education and the engagements the Union has had with the provincial department, the Director General and the KZN Director General over the past eight days.

The challenges in KZN include among others:

•   non-payment of basic financial allocations to schools.

•   non-payment of pay progression.

•   adjustments of Grade R practitioners’ stipends.

•   conversion of temporary educators.

·       grading of Schools.
